Sir Richard Branson as Air Asia's Flight Attendant

Few hours before our flight back to the Philippines, we were informed that there is an upcoming event in LCCT Airport Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  And what was it?  Sir Richard Branson, the Virgin Group  founder, (yes, Virgin Atlantic Airlines is part of it!) slipped into a sexy red skirt and get up as a flight attendant on a special Air Asia X charity flight which departed in Perth last May 12, 2013.

You might be confused of what I'm saying here.  Two years ago, Sir Richard, chairman of Virgin Group, and Mr. Tony Fernandes, Air Asia Group CEO, had a bet on which one of their Formula One racing teams would finished first during the 2010 Formula One Grand Prix held in Abu Dabhi.   Since both has their own airline, the loser would serve as a female flight attendant on board the winner's airline.

Obviously Mr. Fernandes won.  His team finished two spots above Sir Richard's team in the final rankings.

Sir Richard Branson as he enters the airport wearing Air Asia's flight attendant attire:  compression top by HPE Clothing, red uniform by Red Label Tailoring Sdn Bhd, and his cabin crew shoes by Jonathan Wong.

One of a kind.  It's my first time to see a billionaire and I never knew his energy filled up the place with so much fun and laughter.   According to him "This has been a real first for me but I have enjoyed the experience and I have nothing but respect for what our fabulous flight attendants do to keep us safe."

Sir Richard tried to Kiss Mr. Tony Fernandes

Event with a cause.  Air Asia X will be contributing AUD$100 from each seat sold to Starlight Children Foundation in Australia.  Also,  the airline will donate 10% of all inflight sales sold on board the flight to the foundation.  AirAsia BIG loyalty program will also play a part of running a "Tweet2Donate BIG" social media campaign with the aim to garner 1 million BIG points from its members, equivalent to MYR10,000 (AUD3200*) to be chanelled to the charity foundation.

Starlight Children Foundation is a big help to Australia since 1988 as they are dedicated to help seriously ill and hospitalized children around the country.

Anything is possible when you set your heart to it and doing it for a good cause gives it a more meaningful feel.
- Azran Osman-Rani, Air Asia X CEO.
