SM Mall of Asia's 5th Philippine International PyroMusical Competition 2014 - Spain vs UK

If you're thinking of doing something over the weekend, why don't you try watching the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition in SM Mall of Asia (MOA) every Saturday until March 22.  The Pyromusical competition already started last Feb 15, 2014 with an opening exhibition by the Philippines courtesy of Platinum Fireworks. I missed the opening but lucky I got the opportunity to see last week's fireworks by Spain and UK.

Here's the schedule for the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition:
February 15, 2014 - Philippines (Opening Exhibition) & Australia
February 22, 2014 - Spain & UK
March 1, 2014 - France & Japan
March 8, 2014 - China & Germany
March 15, 2014 - Finland & Canada
March 22, 2014 - USA & Philippines (Closing Exhibition)

Ticket prices are Php 100 (Silver), Php 300 (Gold), Php 500 (VIP), and Php 1,500 (Patron with dinner) respectively.  Time shows are usually around 7 or 7:30pm and 8 or 8:30pm wherein each display lasts for more or less 15-20 minutes.  Tickets are available in SM ticket booth, Ticketnet, and Ticketworld outlets.

We decided to go there early to avoid the possibility of heavy traffic plus I'd like to see the sunset.   We were supposed to watch a movie first but we ended up in just watching it after the pyro.  We haven't watch Frozen yet and good thing SM bring it back to screen once again.  Hooray!  Better late than never right? The Pyromusical ended at 9pm while the last full show was at 10pm, sweet!

Never get tired of the sunset view eh?

TIP:  I'm not a pro, but for my photos, I took pictures with tripod, in manual mode, setting my ISO to 100, aperture ranging from f8-f11 (trial and error), shutter from 4-8 seconds (trial and error too),  focus it manually first and I used a remote shutter while taking picture so I can still enjoy the fireworks with my own eyes.  If you have a better suggestion, shoot me a comment!

Spain
The Brunchu Pyro Experience of Spain is already a veteran in the fireworks industry since 1889.  They already won awards like People's Choice Award in 2012 in Canada and Spain.  Song choices were up to date like Wake Me Up by Avicii, Just Give Me A Reason by Pink, and Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia (that's the least we could remember).  Because we're in the VIP area, we can see clearly how the fireworks burst into the sky timing it with the songs.

most of the time, the fireworks are like this

color burst!

United Kingdom
The second competitor for that night was from United Kingdom courtesy of Jubilee Fireworks.  I'm actually expecting this to be really good because UK is the reigning champion of the 2013 Philippine International Pyromusical Competition. What can I say, I was really impressed with the variety of the fireworks here! And the colors are simply fantastic! The song choices? The Other Side by Jason Derulo, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, Wake Me Up by Avicii, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and Greatest Day by Take That.  Jubilee Fireworks' display came in dramatic and superb.

this is my favorite shot

overlapping overexposed shot of mine (sorry na haha)

It was a magical experience for me as I really love fireworks!  And  I'm back to being a happy kid again. ^_^

We are all like fireworks.  We climb, shine and always go our separate ways and become further apart. But even if that time comes, let's not disappear like a firework, and continue to shine... forever.
