Pangasinan: Tambobong White Beach in Dasol

Tambobong Beach is a crystal clear beach, somehow a hidden place in Dasol, Pangasinan.  Thankful that we managed to visit the place.  Special thanks to Kuya Promz for accomodating my text! If not for him, I wouldn't be able to visit Tambobong. Cool guy!

How to get here in Tambobong

From Victory Liner or Five Star, take a bus going to Alaminos, Once you're already at Alaminos, ride a jeepney or another bus to Burgos, Pangasinan. Tell the driver to drop you off the Burgos Market.  Tambobong Beach is a public beach, hence it is not yet commercialized so there are very minimal jeepneys that can take you there. We had to rent a tricycle to make it possible. From Burgos Market an almost 1 hour combination of  good and rough road can reach you to Tambobong Beach.

hi...tambobong seems to be a very nice beach..i just wanna ask if just in case we'll go there nxt week, can a pick-up pass through the rough road instead of renting a tricycle? im planning to go with friends and we'll use a pickup. thanks...ric

adventurousfeet said...

hi anonymous, yes, a pick up can pass through the rough road. When we were there, I saw some vans/cars owned by some bakasyonistas who also passed the same route. Enjoy your vacation! Don't forget to visit colibra island as well http://adventurousfeet.blogspot.com/2010/05/pangasinan-colibra-island-snake-island.html, and other spots there.

adventurousfeet said...

Here's Colibra Island

ok travelbuddy thanks alot! do u have any contact persons there so i can call them when we get there?

adventurousfeet said...

Contact Number: +639105641382 Benilda donato, she's the owner of the place where we stayed at. Kuya promz on the other hand is not affiliated at the resort but he's very kind to my questions you may call him 09193941686. Sadly, I haven't get thet chance to give him a token for being so kind to us :) He wanted to promote his place kasi. Hope he wouldn't mind giving you his number. Have fun there!

Anonymous said...

Hi, thanks for this entry and this can be very useful as we are planning a getaway in December. I just hope they've put up the airconditioned room with its own comfort room.

adventurousfeet said...

Hi Jay-P,

Thanks for visiting. Kindly call the owner with it's number posted here to ask for more info.
You may also try this another resort http://matabang.multiply.com/ but with much higher rate.

demeter said...

Hi! I'm glad you visited Tambobong! Sorry I wasn't of much help. Thanks for sharing these beautiful images. I hope you decide to go back there someday soon? The road from Burgos all the way to Tambobong is almost fully paved! There is only about 5kilometers of rough roads left. Don't take the detour at Concordia anymore but just proceed until you get to the big tire, then turn left to tambobong. Matabang charges very high fees so you'd be better off setting up tents on the beach or talking to locals for homestay. Try looking for the Bobis clan, (Joey, Kanor, Simang, Deo) at the hut in front of the broken down wharf(pantalan) and they'd be sure to accomodate! Cheers!

Anonymous said...

If you have any other options, donta stay at MATABANG BEACH RESORT, the owners are rude to their guests. At first you may feel like they are accommodating pero kasi lahat ng inalok nila sayo eh pag check out mo pababayaran din lahat sayo! at san ka nakakita ng resort na ikaw pa makikisama sa may-ari. Yung shower pag gagamitin mo , sasabihin pa sayo to wash up first kasi nagbabara dahil sa buhangin. kaya please lang if you have other options ..wag sa MATABANG BEACH RESORT!

adventurousfeet said...

i didn't stay at matabang because of their rates. But I discover Benilda's Homestay during my visit here.

there's another good beach in Pangasinan.... Have you heard of Tondol Beach in Anda, Pangasinan? The sand is almost the same as in bora! less pips!

adventurousfeet said...

hi anonymous

yes! i really wish i could visit tondol beach as well, saw it before from Ivan Henares and it's really beautiful!

hi,
my boyfriend and i are looking for a beach to visit next, last time we went to San Juan Surf Resort in San Juan La Union... i think we will consider going here on the 30th of April... will just contact Nanay Benilda and Kuya Promz... thanks for posting their numbers :)

Anonymous said...

kuya kung pupunta po ba dyan pero may dala ng food na lulutuin na lang pwede daw ba?

adventurousfeet said...

pwede naman po. baka may konting charge lang sila sa pagluto

Anonymous said...

wow! this blogsite is very helpful.. we are planning of going there on may 14 and we really don't have any idea on how to go there.. thanks for the post.. is there a transpo going to tambobong because we will just commute for us to be able to go there.. and we will be coming from dagupan.. thanks so much!!! :))

adventurousfeet said...

@anonymous
thanks for visting my blog. So you're already in dagupan, if you know how to go to Burgos, Pangasinan, you don't have any problems na. We took a bus to alaminos (via victory liner) and another bus from alaminos (via victory liner too) to burgos market. Just asked drivers from the alaminos terminal what bus will pass by Burgos. We just asked them to dropped us to Burgos Market. From Burgos Market, we asked a tricycle to bring us in Tambobong Beach.

Anonymous said...

thank you so much! looking forward in meeting manang benilda.. God bless!!!

Anonymous said...

hi! is the rate posted here good for an overnight stay in the resort?

i've read some of your blogs and i find them very helpful and informative. since you've been to many places and looks like you've been quite around pangasinan, could you give me an advise where to go for a family outing. we have 3 teenage kids and we would like to go someplace in pangasinan where they will enjoy the beach as well as other activities within the resort, with an affordable price.

thanks a lot

Gorabels said...

300 for trike. I wonder how we're gonna bring a group of 14 there. suggestions? :D

adventurousfeet said...

Yes this is for overnight stay, but mind you that aling benilda owns a homestay not a resort, so the only activity here aside from swimming is going to colibra island by boat.

There are numeous beach resorts in bolinao. Villa carolina is my preference as it suited my budget. Puerto del sol is somehow pricey but I heard this is one of the finest.
When you're in bolinao, must try is the Patar Beach, it's a public beach there.

Hundred islands in alaminos is more of island hopping, if you're kids love that you can have this option.

adventurousfeet said...

@manila hot stuff
Maybe you could try to ask jeepney you can rent from Burgos Market.

Not sure but I heard there are routes from alaminos/burgos-tambobong/dasol but this is very limited (not so many people visit tambobong that's why), if you could ask around, so you can just hire the jeep.

darna said...

woah! crystal clear waters!
hope i can visit this white beach someday. ;)

Anonymous said...

thank you for the suggestions.

actually, i was considering either villa carolina in bolinao or matabang beach resort in dasol.

could you help me decide between dasol & bolinao beaches by considering these factors: which is more suitable for swimming with regards to the sand, waves and depth.

thank you again

Anonymous said...

to anonymous.. could i also give a suggestion? i've been to bolinao and it's really nice in there.. kaso mabato.. maybe if you would go in bolinao, stay in a resort.. well maintained kasi iyong part ng dagat na natapat sa resort (as per experience).. you can also do cave hopping as there are a lot of caves in bolinao.. if you want a swimming pool, you may try el pescador.. their pool is really nice.. bolinao is nice.. i haven't been to dasol though so i can't make any comparison.. :)

i messages the number you gave but there's no reply.. is there any chance that mam benilda has another number? may i know her number? thank you so much!

@anonymous
sand, waves and depth - sand quality i'd go for tambobong beach (ive never been to matabang beach resort but at the part of benilda's homestay ok naman sya swimmable talaga). But ang ganda din kasi ng sand quality sa patar beach in bolinao. Tama nga na usually kapag sa harap ng resort medyo maintained naman.
waves - wala pong waves sa tambobong beach...
depth - swimmable naman sa tambobong, villa carolina medyo mababaw lang but most resorts in bolinao well maintained naman with regards to facilities and activities na pagpipilian, at may swimming pool pa on some resorts.

adventurousfeet said...

@anonymous
Can you try to call Aling Benilda for like few times on a weekday? I've experienced it before, and napansin ko once we're there, she's like a superwoman. Sobrang dami nyang ginagawa pag weekend, sya lahat kasi eh pati pagluto para sa customers sya din. And that's the only number i know po.

ah ganun ba... thank you so much for your help.. :))

We will never find a better place with a very good, accomodating and kind owner of this place. Anything you ask she makes it a point to deliver it you.She deals with it personally even the cooking. And look at this.... the price is affordable that it shocks you as compared to the other resorts around. We will always go back to this place.

adventurousfeet said...

@anonymous
glad you liked it. and yes you are correct, she is very very accomodating to your needs. even it's just a homestay without any facilities, still you will love to go back here.

hi. been here last 2010 summer. this place is really so nice and we do island hoping and went to marco polo. i hope theres a picture of the island of marco polo here. i wanna go back in that place. i really love it!

There is a new resort there, just starting. Its called PANTALAN BEACH RESORT in Tambobong. Bawal ang maingay na karaoke, cemented parking for 10 cars(50/night), kubo rental at only 1.5k per night and maintenance fees at only 50/head for use of cr and bath kung gusto niyo mag tent lang sa beach!!! Pero very very basic facilities lang. They even offer set meals for groups. Or if you want them to cook merong minimal fees lang. The kubos are built right on the pantalan (port) so GREAT view of the ocean talaga. Maganda yung kubo and can fit 8 to 10 yata. Meron din built in tables made of bamboo lang. Rustic. Its owned by the Bobises so just call nanay Precy bobis or Deo Bobis at SUN#09227154685 or SUN#09236685401 or SMART#09075183062 for reservations and arrangements. I understand they can even arrange transpo to/from manila na rin now. Pls call or text for rates nalang. Thanks.

we're off to pangasinan tomorrow! visita iglesia muna sa early morning (churches via the camiling-alaminos-burgos route) then dasol tour for the rest of the day. i hope we'll have enough time to visit all the sights, kasi we're spending the night in tondol beach. thanks sa info... very helpful, even the comments! will try to contribute more info/updates later, when i get the chance ^_^ ~ynseng

adventurousfeet said...

thanks ynseng! will highly appreciate it. been wanting to go back there hopefully soon :)

Anonymous said...

we stayed in dasol for less than two hours lang kasi super na-delay na kami sa traffic at visita iglesia. the road from burgos to dasol seemed sooooo long, at tama yung comment below: yung rough road part ay super mabato so medyo mangangarag ka kung small vehicle ang dala mo. personally, parang hindi sulit yung effort namin kasi we only had time to have our lunch dun sa beachfront papag. perhaps if we stayed at least one night and had a whole day to see the islands, caves and the shipwreck, baka sulit. pero imho, tondol beach is way better than tambobong beach. sana next time masubukan kong bumalik sa dasol with my more adventurous friends para maenjoy ko.

additional tips na lang for your readers:

- kung may dala kayong sasakyan, follow the map in matabang beach resort's multiply page pero take note na the petron gas station referred there is now Meta-Gas (?) station. when you see the petron gas station in burgos, lalampasan nyo pa yun then turn right sa tapat nung meta-gas station (Navarro street ata yun)

- dont plan just a day tour like we did. i suggest at least an overnight stay and a whole day to discover the sights mentioned here

- DO try Tondol beach in Anda! pagkatapos ng adventure-filled trip nyo sa dasol or bolinao or hundred islands, stay in tondol beach to relax and eat the most delicious mangoes!

thanks again adventurousfeet for the informative post and the great photos! :)

hindi ako nagswimming sa dasol pero mukhang malinis at masarap magbabad sa tubig. i noticed some dark areas lang, siguro parang mga seagrass tulad nung sa tondol beach. ~ynseng

adventurousfeet said...

thanks ynseng for that very informative comment. If given the chance ill check out tondol beach as well, ive been wanting to see it during lowtide. Yeah its not really a daytrip since malayo talaga, colibra island is a nice small island can be reached from tambobong

iStyan said...

Thanks ynseng for the tips. Hmmm we'll check out Tondol Beach muna in Anda then cguro late summer na lang 'tong Tambobong beach. Hehe excited much for the escapade!

Adventurousfeet, kudos to your helpful & informative blog. Keep us posted for some of your recommended beaches ^__^ (ung kayang puntahan by land transpo lang hehe)

I find Tambobong Beach as an ordinary beach though...the sand is not the white I was looking for. And a bit dirty when we went there. Saka di swimmable! Sobrang dami na ng seagrass that time.

BUT! Ang the best na napuntahan namin dun ay yung islands near it, lalo na yung Culebra/Collibra Island. The best. Ang ganda nung island. Hehe. I'll be posting it soon. And your post helped as a lot in planning this trip. More power adventurous feet! :)

Salamat po in advance!

Where else are the good places in the Philippines that is not so far from Manila, if it happens that the weather is not hospitable when I get there in the Philippines?

how much is your rate for 4-8 people (still unsure if how many will come with us) 3 days, 2 nights. preferably a room with aircon and private bathrooms. also want to ask if the beach is white and clean. Is it swimable? another thing, is the weather in May a good time to go to that beach? Btw, if we decide to go island hopping to colibra island, crocodile island and balinmanok shipwreck and the kabakungan cave how much is the charge? thanks

Thank you for answering my questions, we're considering your resort to be our accommodation. Is the Beach house of your resort beach front? Btw, How can we get to tambobong beach and to your resort from manila via private vehicle? Thank you & your hospitality is very much appriciated.

ABELLAS RESORT said...

THE BEACH HOUSE IS APPROXIMATELY 20-30 STEPS FROM THE SEA SHORE. SO FROM THE TERRACE YOU COULD HAVE A GLIMPSE OF THE SEA AND ALL THE OTHER ISLANDS. IF YOU'RE TRAVELING VIA A PRIVATE VEHICLE, TAKE THE USUAL ROUTE GOING TO PANGASINAN, WHEN YOU REACH SOCONY, BUGALLON INTERSECTION, TAKE THE ROUTE GOING TO ALAMINOS CITY, FROM ALAMINOS CITY, TAKE THE ROUTE GOING TO BURGOS PANGASINAN, AND THEN THE BURGOS TO TAMBOBONG ROAD.

YOU CAN GO TO TAMBOBONG VIA LAND OR SEA TRAVEL. IF YOU OPT TO GO VIA LAND, WE COULD HAVE SOMEONE GUIDE YOU FROM THE BURGOS TO TAMBOBONG ROAD. VIA SEA TRAVEL, WE COULD SEND MOTORBOATS TO FETCH YOU AT THE PORT AND YOU COULD PARK YOUR CARS TO THE OWNER'S HOUSE LOCATED HERE SA SENTRO NG TOWN.

Hello,

We've been looking at staying in the Tambobong beach area for our weekend getaway in the Philippines. Ideally, we'd like a room/cottage with an en-suite (private) bathroom, on the beach front. Our budget is flexible. We're just a couple, so we'd like something quiet and perhaps a bit away from large groups. Can anyone recommend a particular homestay that might suit us?

i've been here recently, there's still around 8 kilometers of rough road from concordia to tambobong but passable even for a car. great beach, great island hopping. nanay benilda's place highly recommended.

sana lang yung mga pupunta dito wag magkalat ng basura nila sa beach, specially sa colibra island , nakaklungkot na ang daming basura dun mga wrappers ng snacks etc. sayang ang ganda ng isla ! be a responsible tourist !

Anonymous said...

AVOID "R PARADISE RESORT", you will be surprised at the add ons to your bill when you check out !

ANG DAMING BASURA SA COLIBRA ISLAND, PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE TOURISTS, DON'T LEAVE YOUR GARBAGE ON THE BEACH AND ISLANDS ! NAKAKASIRA NG GANDA NG KALIKASAN.

nag inquire kami sa contact number na nasa details. but sad to say it seems na hindi accommodating yung may ari. they should be nice when to their aspiring customers lalo na kung company outing but unfortunately yung may-ari ng hindi sya nice makipag-usap sa phone. feels sad. interested pa naman kami sa resort but because of that we decided to other resort with accommodating staff/owner.
