Part2: Cebu-Bohol Trip (Day1) - The Cebu City Tour

After our lunch, it's time for some action! I bought a map to guide us (they say there's a map at the airport but I wasn't able to have one).  We realize then, we didn't need a rented car to tour us to Cebu, and it is much much cheaper!

TIP: Having a Cebu map is very convenient. And you will not get lost!

Basilica Del Sto. Niño
Our Cebu City Tour started from visiting the Basilica del Sto. Niño.  We take a cab which only costs us more or less Php 50.00 from Joven's Grill & Seafood. Cebu is one of the first to be colonized by the Spaniards, expecting a lot of Churches along the way.  This is one of the oldest church in the country.

Sto. Niño School

Magellan's Cross
Just beside the Basilica del Sto. Niño is the famous Magellan's Cross. This is my favorite spot, and one of the things I wouldn't want to miss in Cebu.

The Cebu City Municpall Hall is just beside the Magellan's Cross.

Casa Gorordo Museum
Next stop, we take a cab to Casa Gorordo Museum costing us less Php40.00 from Magellan's Cross.  They said there's an entrance fee of Php 40.00 inside and we're not allowed to take pictures, so we just managed to stay at the garden to take some pictures for free. Cheap.

Heritage Monument of Cebu
Few blocks away is the Heritage Monument of Cebu. We just walked towards it.  Very much on details, awesome.

Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House
There's an ancestral house almost infront of Heritage Monument.

Cebu Cathedral
Another church to visit is the Cathedral of Cebu. We couldn't take the heat anymore so we took a cab for less than Php35.

Cathedral Museum of Cebu
We also visited its museum "Cathedral Museum of Cebu", entrance fee Php 40.00.

Rajah Monument
Then Rajah Humabon Monument. He's the first Filipino Chief to embrace Christianity when Spaniards came. Just in front of the Cathedral Museum.

Fort San Pedro
Our last stop for our own Cebu City Tour is the Fort San Pedro. Smaller version of Fort Santiago.  We realized then, this is just beside Pier 1 of Cebu, where we bought ferry tickets earlier.

Taboan Market
We head our way to Taboan Market to buy some danggit and pusit for pasalubong! Yeah, i love it! I bought danggit 1/8 kilo each plastic. By just buying a kilo, I can have 8 packed pasalubong!

Medium-sized Danggit - Php 650.00
Medium-sized Pusit - Php 480.00

Other sites to see:
Plantation Bay - the ever famous beauty of the resort
Taoist Temple - it's far from the City but if you have time, check this out, you'll feel like you're in China.
TOPS - must see during the night, you'll get the picture of the whole Cebu
Mactan Island Tours: Magellan Monument/Lapu Lapu Monument and the Guitar factory for music lovers.
There is also what they called the Carbon Market where you can buy other pasalubongs.

Hello! How long did the entire city tour take you? My boyfriend and I are visiting Cebu this July, and we don't really want to pay for a tour service. We'd rather tour the city on our own like you did!

Thank you very much, your blog has been very informative.:)

The Cebu city tour is just the activity you need to get involved in after you land in by flights to Cebu. There is so much you can explore in terms of the historic architecture and the spectacular sight seeing in Cebu.
